Sammy J’s News of the Week:
My week has been incredibly boring – apart from my exciting Wednesday morning. Picture this; a bleary eyed Samuel James arises early on a Wednesday morning, his stomach groans and aches. Perhaps the delicious dinner he ate last night was too rich for his digestive system? He races to the toilet and suddenly it’s a massacre – the poo explodes into the bowl and is bright red as it slides down the side of the latrine. More anal bleeding?! Oh no, the colouring is reminiscent of the plate of balsamic beets that he ate the night before. Beetroot poo + Diarrhea = a powerful and messy combination.
Complimentary Tweets of the week:
I have officially made it in the SM scene. (SM = Social Media, obviously, what were you thinking?). The Localist replied to my tweet that I like k’road:
Plus! Original plumbing tweeted me too:
AND I got a recommendation from the lovely queer porn star, Vid Tuesday, and the lovely queer comic star Erika Moen:
Best Review Ever:
I’m so very flattered by this review: http://outontheshelveslibrary.wordpress.com/2012/09/17/trans-webcomics/
Must Read (we)Blog of the week:
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Dylan Meconis’ “How Not To Write Comics Criticisms”, and the link to this little gem by Alison Bechdel.
Awesome Purchase of the Week:
PORN! Comic Porn!!! I was absolutely horrified when I found out about Smut Peddler after the kickstarter had wrapped up, so I was so excited to find that the e-version has just been released and now I have 342 pages of smut goodness all to myself!! Also, it only cost $15 so I think you should download it immediately. What is better than lady-friendly, sex-positive comic porn?! The fact that it has stuff from Erika Moen, Jess Fink, and EK Weaver
Paris Hilton was caught hating on gay guys in a secret recording. Meanwhile, Rupert Everett was caught hating on gay guys in a media interview (can you be caught doing something that you do in an intentionally public way?).
As an antidote to such horror please watch the Sami Sisters newly released song “Oh Boy”.
Online Campaign of the Week:
Everyone’s favourite ski-masked feminist punk crims, Pussy Riot, have posted a letter to the public thanking the international support that they’ve received subsequent to their arrest in Russia. Thanks to everyone’s favourite human rights organization, amnesty international is letting you write back.

awwwwww! :>
I, for one, would love to see a trans porn comic from you! I wouldn’t dwell too much on distinguishing language/etc.. A lot of that will come from context and dialog. If there’s a pre-T pre-op transguy in your comic, who is presenting as male, him saying “suck my cock” to his partner (or the partner saying “I want to suck your cock”) is probably enough for readers to understand terminoligy/identification. A disclaimer before the first page, too, may be enough. Your readers aren’t dumb. And most of them looking at a trans* comic are probably already aware of trans language.
The first pages of your comic may not even be full-blown sex, either, so showing things like someone taking off a binder would be helpful?
What I think is.. draw what YOU want to see in a comic! If that’s a transdude with a cis-dick, awesome! If it’s a transguy with “original plumbing”, also great.
PS: I love the guy’s stockings in the fourth panel!!
Yay, I really want to start drawing stuff, and playing with what works, and what doesn’t. And it’s true that my readers are pretty well versed on trans language. And yay for trans stockings!
It’s a tough job but somebody’s got to do it.
Ha! Yep tough, and also hard.
hmm, no easy answer…i would just draw what YOU would want to see in a sexy trans comic. because i am sure there are people who would enjoy (and there’s no way to make porn that everyone will think is perfect)! then have a disclaimer either at the beginning or end about why you made the artistic choices that you did? my only other thought is that you could draw trans cock to look more like it would after a meta (to emphasize it, but to acknowledge that there may be some variation from cis)?
Ooh I like that idea – I often think about my cock as something that morphs during sex, it takes on different shapes depending on what I’m doing, or what is being done to me, so I kinda like the idea of playing around with that. But, to begin with I reckon just drawing simple trans dudes cocks will work, and there’s so many varieties as well! (post/no surgery)
I find it’s a lot easier in writing, as you get the POV of at least one character pretty prominently. Maybe, like, first-person narration boxes from the focal character? And I think it’s way better to present trans bodies as they are; representing trans bodies with cis bodies is distinctly unsexy.
Phew! I agree, I feel like it takes out all the trans fun if I drew them cis-like. It is nice to get feedback about it
Hello from germany, Hamburg and the northern half of the planet! Just want to let you know how muchg I enjoy your site! Thank you!
