It’s always a bit tricky trying to work out what to say on these weeks – awareness is a tricky thing. But this year I wanted to send a little love to our communities, and let them know they are seen and valued.

Panel three is taken from Cuba Street in Wellington (the city in New Zealand I now live in), you should watch this video of Bella Simpson talking about Wellington, and specifically the rainbow crosswalk (such good shade!) https://nzhistory.govt.nz/media/photo/bella-simpson

Panel four talks about the evergreen (which I’ve previously written about), plus some good protests and letter campaigns, the Takatāpui TV show hosted by Ramon Te Wake, Carmen Rupe’s poster for her campaign for mayor, the ‘To Be Who I am’ report, the ‘Counting Ourselves’ research, Changes in NZ government, and Georgina Beyer (the first out trans minister of parliament), and a great poster campaign by Gender Minorities.
