Rooster Tails

 

Sorry all, that last panel had been bugging me, I had to fix it.

 

TRANSCRIPT:

Panel 1:

(There are three captions in this panel. Caption one reads:) Sometimes I feel pretty sad about my body.

(Caption two reads:) Being bigger & binding hurts

(Caption three reads:) So I’ve* made a goal to lose weight.

(There is writing at the bottom of the panel, which reads:) *Also my endo told me I should.

Sam: (A person wearing an open, blue, collared, short sleeve shirt and a black binder, who is facing the viewer, but looking down. Eyebrows are lowered, pushed together slightly, and eyes are droopy. Mouth is closed and small, and arms are bent up and across Sam’s body at the elbows, in each hand a side of Sam’s open shirt.)

Panel 2:

(There is a caption in the middle of this panel, which reads:) Especially since Auckland is so hot and I sweat in places I didn’t know I even had.

Sam: (A person wearing a red t-shirt, which has sweat marks at the armpits and on the sides, who is facing the viewer, but looking towards the sun. Eyebrows are raised and pushed together slightly, mouth is open, with tongue hanging out. There are droplets of sweat running down Sam’s face, and flying off it. Sam is also producing heat waves. One of Sam’s arms is bent up at the elbow, hand in two positions, hand flat and open, fingers together, and fingers bent over at the knuckles. There are lines between the two hand positions, indicating movement.)

(Behind Sam is a light brown silhouette of the Sky Tower and the buildings surrounding it. Above, the sun is large and bright.)

 

Panel 3:

Sam: (A person wearing a red t-shirt, black shorts and dark blue canvas shoes, who is looking directly at the viewer. Eyebrows are raised and pushed together slightly, mouth is open, with slightly downturned edges. Arms are raised at the shoulders, one arm is bent forward at the elbow, hand open, and the other is bent up at the elbow, index finger pointing down at one of Sam’s legs. One of Sam’s legs is raised at the hip and bent down at the knee. There are wavy lines to either side of Sam’s calves, which indicate brightness.) So in the meantime I’ve been wearing shorts- which is pretty awful since my legs haven’t seen the sunlight since I was in high school.

(In the background there are two trees behind a fence on the other side of the road.)

 

Panel 4:

(There is a caption at the top of the panel, which reads:) To make myself feel better I pretend I’m a superhero and my superpower is reflective legs.

Sam: (A person wearing a red singlet, a yellow cape, black shorts and navy blue shoes with red soles, who is facing the viewer, but looking to the side. Eyebrows are lowered and pushed together slightly, and mouth is open. One arm is raised slightly at the shoulder, its hand in a fist. The other arm is raised at the shoulder, to shoulder height, its index finger pointing the same way Sam is looking. The leg on the same side is raised at the hip and bent down at the knee. Big yellow and red zig zags are emanating from Sam’s shin.) Have at you, scum!
