I lived in Dunedin for about 8 years. It is an amazing place, and I found many people there who are now part of my Queer Family (including Joe!). Dunedin is a small town in the South Island of New Zealand, and is fairly rural.
My cool friends are now organising a Dunedin Pride! I can’t stress how important it is to have a pride festival in Dunedin!! I think it’ll be amazing, PLUS Joe is performing!!!
The problem is that there are just 9 days left to get their pledgeme campaign (like kickstarter, but for kiwis), and they still need about $1ooo more dollars. SO PLEASE SHARE, DONATE, AND SHARE AGAIN!! Also their video is super cute, and filled with queer family loves of mine
So, yeh, help us out! It’s such a great cause, and if you’ve ever lived in a small rural town and wanted it to be safer for Queer people – then this is a campaign that will directly do that for Dunedin. So that’s awesome. Yeh… ok.
Serendipitously, I find I can understand this more as I was asked an invasive question just the other day.
At least with being trans* not coming up you were saved from questions about your genitalia… >_>
o.o <– your face in the last panel
I find myself really, REALLY hoping that this wasn’t at the Big Gay Out…

Hey, I’m an 18 year old British trans guy. I just wanted to say that I’ve read through about half of your comics (so far!) and they’ve really helped me understand my own discovery of my gender and sexuality, and how to frame it in terms of others’, and society’s norms. And they make me feel a little bit less like I’m the only person in the world who doesn’t fit cisgender expectations. I know that isn’t true, at all, but I feel it a lot.
So thank you. These comics are awesome.
I’ve got the great “Oh you’re gay? Do you have a crush on me?” before. Or the “Wait, but you have a boyfriend. You can’t call yourself gay” and vice versa. In my own perfect world, people wouldn’t feel the need to label, and get confused when there is no set in stone label. Sure, you can use bisexual, but you still get the “well you’re not actually gay.” or “you’re not actually straight.”stuff.
