I really love the phrase, “in a gay way” because it helps me put my weird-as-all-hell sexuality into terms. I define myself as “ostensibly straight” because while I am usually attracted to men, every once in a while I will come across a certain type of woman to whom I am inexplicably attracted in a way I don’t really feel comfortable defining as lesbian.

Once when 17 or so I got drunk at a friend’s house and wound up confessing to her about feeling this way about a girl at school.

Me: It’s like, you know, I kind of really want her in the same way I want, like… Jagdeep from science class, for example.
    Her: Um, okay.
Me: Basically what I am saying is that I want this girl to put a dick in me.
    Her: *speechless*
    Me: Is that weird?
Her: This would be a lot simpler if you just said you were bi.
    Me: I KNOW, RIGHT?

One such “girl” actually came out as trans some years down the road, so briefly it was like, “SCORE HETERO ALL ALONG-” but then it kept happening, over and over…

I’ve never told anyone else this before, incidentally, so do with that what you will, random internet people.

Heh. I just recently came out that I am a gender queer (Thanks to your comics helping me find that out and gave me confidence) and so far, it’s pretty good. My friend’s accept it and actually root for me for doing it. I still get bullied a little because of it but I’ve learnt that you just have to shrug it off and remember, it only matters about what you think. I only wish my Mom could accept it…

Oh woah, that’s sooo cool! Congrats on coming out, it can be SUUUUPER scary! Good luck with your mum too.. it can take a little while, but just know that who you are is awesome, even if other people are confused/don’t get it/don’t accept it…

As a genderqueer AFAAB, I swear the genderqueer label exists to confuse people xD
