Panel 1:

(There are four Sams.)

Sam 1: (A person wearing a light blue-grey, collared shirt, a dark grey vest, and dark brown trousers, who is looking directly at the viewer. Eyebrows are raised and pushed together slightly, and mouth is open, its edges very slightly downturned. One arm is bent up at the elbow, palm to the side of Sam 1’s head, facing where Sam 1’s glasses would be, the other arm is bent up at the elbow, its palm facing up.) If I drew myself with no glasses,

Sam 2: (A person who is looking directly at the viewer, with eyebrows both lowered and pushed together slightly, mouth is open, its edges very slightly downturned. Sam 2’s hips are pushed forward, and both hands are on the sides of Sam 2’s belly.) with less of a belly,

Sam 3: (A person who is looking directly at the viewer, with eyebrows raised, and mouth open, its edges slightly downturned. One of Sam 3’s arms is bent around so that its hand is chest height, palm facing Sam 3’s chest.) with a flatter chest,

Sam 4: (A person who is looking directly at the viewer, with eyebrows both raised and pushed together slightly, and mouth which has slightly upturned edges. Both hands are near Sam 4’s sides, their palms facing Sam 4’s crotch, which is pushed forward slightly, and has a larger bulge than usual.) or a fuller bulge,

(There is a caption at the bottom of the panel, which reads:) would you see me then?

Panel 2:

(There are three Sams.)

Sam 1: (A person who is looking directly at the viewer with raised eyebrows, and an open mouth, which has downturned edges. One arm is bent up at the elbow, its thumb pointing straight up.) If my voice was lower,

Sam 2: (A person who is looking directly at the viewer with raised eyebrows, and an open mouth. Arms are bent up at the elbows, palms facing up, and Sam 2’s shirt is open, with chest hair is poking out.) if I had more hair on my chest,

Sam 3: (A person who is looking directly at the viewer, with raised eyebrows, and an open mouth which has slightly downturned edges. Shoulders are raised, with arms by Sam 3’s sides.) would you be more inclined to use ‘he’?

Panel 3:

Sam: (A person who is looking directly at the viewer, with eyebrows raised and mouth open. One arm is raised at the shoulder, its hand open and pointing to a blackboard.) If I didn’t break those rules we set up, would your questions be less invasive?

(In the background there is a blackboard with writing on it, which reads:)

male = masculine = man

female = feminine = woman

woman + man = great!

Panel 4:

Sam: (A person who is looking directly at the viewer, with raised eyebrows, and an open mouth. Arms are bent forward at the elbows, palms facing one another.) If it was ok to be scared, and to let the fear go, could we just be?
