Here we go – packing tips gratefully accepted. I’m still planning what next, but things are feeling like less chaos than before. My current plan is to take a few months to zoom around NZ and do some soul searching – visit friends, draw lots, keep moving. I’ve also got a few events coming up in the next few weeks in Auckland – I’ll be at Auckland Zinefest on Sunday the 21st (it’s going for two days, and I suggest you go to both days ’cause there are some amazing people both days, and then I’ll be at the Queer AF Market on August 1. So, come say hey and buy some things 🙂
Also, it’s my birthday next week (July 25th) and I feel a bit sad about it, Joey was always v good at doing good birthdays, so anyone who wants to send me some love next week – I’ll be very happy to receive it. I’ll be in Wellington on the actual day (trying to decide what to do – so suggest away!)

As for packing tips, make sure that the box you move last is the one you should open first, with all the basics that you don’t want to be hunting desperately for later on, like loo roll, your toothbrush, favorite mug to drink out of, a towel or two, extra underwear, etc. Label this very important box clearly so it’s less likely to be lost amidst all the other nearly-identical boxes. And don’t pack up all your scissors or box cutters so you’ll have at least one pair readily available to open all the boxes.
Also, the last bits to pack are always the hardest, and include all the awkward and irregularly-sized stuff you’ve put off packing until later. Leave some easier stuff to pack later as well, so it’s not all a big slog at the end.
