Trans Week of Awareness is always weird. This year, maybe more so… there’s certainly been a swelling of anti-trans rhetoric in Aotearoa (New Zealand) and political parties are putting that into their policies. I think it’s a last ditch effort to grasp onto some sort of power that apparently trans people have (?). I also think probably they’ve mistimed it, because there’s more than enough support for trans people, and it’s gained so much momentum now that it’s probably going to be incredibly difficult to re-de-humanise trans people again. It’s still crappy though, so my little trans badge is my way of reminding people “hey, I’m still human and still trans”.
Also – I’m decluttering at the moment – so I’ve temporarily reopened my store. There’s heaps of discounts, including half price original art – if there’s ever a strip you like, and you want the original – now’s the time to get it. If you’re not sure if it’s still available, just send me a message and I’ll triple check it’s there! I’ve only put NZ postage options because I’ve sent a few things internationally and they never arrived – so it seems like it’s not viable at the moment.
